-
Box Office & Bars: 6:00pm / Doors: 6:30pm / Show: 7:30pm
OVERVIEW:
Join us for a night where classical meets jazz, Latin rhythms, and cinematic flair, featuring some of the 20th century’s most captivating compositions. Under the baton of Anthony Brown, The Fulltone Orchestra brings together exceptional talent for a concert that promises to dazzle and delight.
The evening opens with George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, a vibrant and rhythmic celebration of Latin sounds that will set the stage for the journey to follow. Next, let yourself be swept away by the sultry tones of John Williams’ Escapades, performed by the talented Vicki Watson on alto saxophone. Then, Dominic Irving takes the spotlight for a performance of Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue—a timeless blend of classical and jazz that captures the spirit of New York City.
Leonard Bernstein’s lively Mambo from West Side Story, guaranteed to fill the hall with infectious energy. Rosie Bennet then enchants with the evocative melodies of Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, offering a rich Spanish flavour that lingers in the air. The evening concludes with Arturo Márquez’s Danzon No. 2, a piece that pulses with life and captures the essence of Latin American dance.
With the rich sound of The Fulltone Orchestra behind them, these soloists will bring each piece to life in a way you won’t forget. Whether you’re a classical music aficionado or a fan of jazz and Latin rhythms, this concert has something for everyone.
