KATE RUSBY - Winter Light Tour

  • Box Office & Bars: 6:00pm / Doors: 6:30pm / Show: 7:00pm

OVERVIEW:

Forever proud to call herself a folk singer, Kate Rusby rounds off 2024 in style with her annual, and much anticipated, Christmas tour.  Full of warmth, sparkles and her unique festive music featuring songs from her latest charting Christmas album ‘Light Years’ 2023 and a selection from her ever-WINTER popular previous six Christmas albums.

‘British folk royalty since the 1990’s, the Barnsley Nightingale is a Yuletide veteran’ – Daily Mail

‘Kate Rusby remains Britain’s most popular female folk singer because she has mastered the art of Christmas songs’ – The Guardian

A folk singer at heart, she’s taken the genre to new heights appealing way beyond the folk scene and her Yorkshire roots, headlining in the UK and internationally, performing with other big names in music across genres. She has a number of TV, radio and film credits to her name including Ricky Gervais’ multi award winning Netflix series ‘Afterlife’, Jennifer Saunders’ BBC hit sitcom ‘Jam And Jerusalem’, and Ruth Jones’ Sky One series ‘Stella’.

Hailed as ‘The Start of Christmas’ for many, a Kate Rusby Christmas Concert perpetuates the tradition of Yorkshire carols, specific carols still sung in the pubs of South Yorkshire and much more.

Her happiness, humour and storytelling are a feature of Kate’s live shows branding herself as a ‘Holly Head’ – someone who loves Christmas. Joining her on stage for this unmissable evening of Christmas cheer will be, as ever, her hugely talented and intuitive band of musicians including producer and husband Damien O’Kane as well as a top-flight brass quintet affectionately known as The Brass Boys.
